I talk every day with old players and the game is a lot better than at the start. When there is a problem or a bug, every one cries about it but when it disappears you just forget the problem, and you cry for something else. Then CCP fix it and you switch to the next one.
CCP does a great job during these 2 years, PS3 is the problem.
For the moment, the first problem is the lag, the cache memory fills up too fast and after 2 or 3 fights you have 1 frame/s.
If it's the laboratory and your ps3 is running since more than 3 hours, with more than 3 chanels open and the effects and quality max, it's like a slideshow and your ps3 hard freeze with system failure at each game.
For a good game the first and more important thing is the gameplay. Not the graphisms, not the visual and sound effects. We just want to see the game normally and fight normally. Not a slideshow, no anticipating the hitbox by shooting in front of the ennemy, not be killing by a guy 3 seconds after I killed him first.
So I engage CCP and you Rattati to look firstly for ways to reduce the ressources needs by the game in regard of the old performances of the ps3. Maybe ways to reduce the weight of the informations for the real time exchange in the network.
And if someone, reply with "it's just the server, no ways to improve", I will answer to look skyrim. It was not an online game, but after few hours of gaming, the framerate was falling down exactly like Dust. And it arrived more with an old character and lot of items.
So bethesda reduced the consumption of the game and it works, not like in computer (far from computer), but the fun came back.
For the moment, you maybe do a compromise between visual and gameplay, but it's a mistake. I think everyone would be ok to reduce some little things to win some framerate. And a lot of players turn off the game voice, and reduce a lot the audio effects, because they are to many. Sounds of respawn, dropuplinks, nanohives, fights, grenades, orbital strikes, v+¬hicules etc, that makes us crazy
Be carefull, hearing someone putting remote explo is part of the gameplay, like the sound of v+¬hicules or the decloak, but nanohives noise is just for the effect, like a lot of the visual ones.
I know it's not in the good place, but please answer me, just to know if you can make something for that.
Thanks Rattatouille

Yes it limits a lot. When half of the squad decide to go to another game after laggy games, or when the game force us to reboot every hour to empty the cache memory, it limits.
Do you seriously don't know people with this kind of problems in your corporation?
maybe you are in the little part of people without problems, but all my corporation have the sames lags and freeze.
Maybe my pS3 is too old, and I have too many fits, I don't know, or you are in the little percentage to have fiber connection.
It's just sad seeing people leaving Dust because of the lag or the hitbox problems. |
